RISE AI Workshop: "Information Extraction from Images"

This half-day workshop focuses on extracting information from digital image materials provided by the participants, using multimodal large language models such as ChatGPT-4, Gemini 1.5, or Claude 3.5 Sonnet.

The workshop is aimed at researchers and students in the social sciences and humanities who have already completed the crash course Information Extraction from Images with AI. During the workshop, participants will develop a workflow for extracting information from their own image datasets, whether for ongoing or planned research projects.

The course is aimed in particular at doctoral students from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Researchers and staff from all faculties of the University of Basel are welcome. The number of participants is limited to 8 per session. Ideally, participants should have basic knowledge of Python. If needed, the course can be offered in English. Questions and contributions in English are, of course, welcome at any time, regardless of the course language.

Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Register now.
