RISE Crash Course: "AI Benchmarking"

Two-hour introduction to methods for selecting the optimal large language model for your specific research question.

In this two-hour introductory course, you will learn fundamental benchmarking methods to select the appropriate large language model for your specific research question. The course covers key aspects such as evaluating the costs, performance, and quality of different models. The aim is to equip you with the necessary tools to critically compare various models and make informed decisions for your research.

The course is aimed in particular at doctoral students from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Researchers and staff from all faculties of the University of Basel are welcome. The number of participants is limited to 15 people (on-site) per session. If needed, the course can be offered in English. Questions and contributions in English are, of course, always welcome regardless of the course language.
