RISE Crash Course: "Practical Basics of AI via API"

Two-Hour Introduction to Using Large Language Models via an API.

In this two-hour event, we will demonstrate how to query LLMs through APIs and how to automate the serial querying of a large number of requests.

Using simple Python scripts, such queries will be demonstrated, and we will reflect on further processing and storage.

The course is aimed in particular at doctoral students from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Researchers and staff from all faculties of the University of Basel are welcome. Ideally, participants should have basic knowledge of Python, but this is not mandatory. If needed, the course can be offered in English. Questions and contributions in English are, of course, always welcome regardless of the course language.
