RISE crash course on automatic collation

Two-hour crash course for introduction to automatic collation

collation visualisation

Collation is the comparison of the textual witnesses or versions of a work. It is generally used in the context of critical or genetic editing, to study the textual transmission or the genesis of a textual work. Collation is one of the first philological activities which has been at least partially automatised with the advent of computers: the first attempts dated back to the 60's. Currently there are various tools to perform automatic collation.

In the crash course, we will revise general concepts about collation and automatic collation, provide an overview of the current panorama and focus on the collation software CollateX.

Please register by email. The course language is English.
