New Book Chapter on Data Reuse in Digital Scholarly Editions

As part of the monograph Digital Editing and Publishing in the Twenty-First Century, Elena Spadini and José Luis Losada authored the chapter titled “Re-using data from editions”

How is data reuse reshaping scholarly editing, and how can the 'R' in FAIR be meaningfully enabled in the digital paradigm of scholarly editions?

This book chapter provides an overview of the current landscape of data reuse and illustrates future developments, showcasing reuse practices in action. Examples include searching across multiple datasets using authority records, integrating edition data into dictionaries, detecting intertextuality and connecting digital editions with gazetteers.

Elena Spadini, a former RISE member, is now an SNSF Assistant Professor at the Walter Benjamin Kolleg of the University of Bern. In his role at RISE  José Luis Losada Palenzuela advises researchers on projects of scholarly editing and digital literary studies.
