Dr. Ina Serif

Ina Serif studied History, German Studies, and Italian in Freiburg i. Br. and Rome. From 2013 to 2018, she completed her PhD at the University of Freiburg i. Br. on the late medieval chronicle of Jakob Twinger of Königshofen. Since 2017, she has been working at the University of Basel, initially as a research associate, from 2019 at the Department of History as an assistant at the Chair for Renaissance and Early Modern History, and since 2021 as a Bereichsassistentin for pre-modern and digital history. Since 2025 she has been part of RISE.
Besides working with pre-modern sources, she is interested in digital forms of transfer and storage of knowledge, and digital history. She conducts courses and workshops on various sub-fields of digital history at Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD levels, and of course, she is interested in cats.
