Research and Infrastructure Support (RISE)
Research and Infrastructure Support (RISE) supports researchers in the humanities and social sciences at the University of Basel regarding questions of the conception of computer-assisted research, the creation, analysis and presentation of data, the long-term data protection and open access of data.
RISE employs a team of 5 employees and is located at the Digital Humanities Lab and the University Library Basel. The focus of RISE is providing support related to data issues, the creation of research proposals, the conception of data management plans, the evaluation and visualization of data, the connection to suitable data infrastructures and the development of open science policies. The team has experience in the areas of digitization, cataloging and editions, databases and repositories, real-time data analysis and network analysis, quantitative data analysis of texts and images and interactive computing.
RISE also offers workshops, blog events and summer schools on recent developments in relation to data-intensive topics in the humanities and social sciences and their infrastructures.
